I left out the chocolate, added cinnamon, and served it to my husband with maple syrup. He has a hard time trying new things, so I told him it was “baked french toast”. He ate it, declared it tasty, and then said, “I bet this would be $12.99 in a restaurant.”

However, I’m concerned the two eggs would overpower the other flavors and the general texture of the dessert. Could I just use one egg for both servings?

I did not add the chocolate. I added more milk because the mix was too dry, I also added a dollop of molasses. I will be having one for breakfast tomorrow, so don’t know how they taste, but they smell wonderful! Thank you for these recipes, I have your book and have tried several of the offerings. (Oooohh the Derby pie….sigh)

Small ramekins for Creme Brûlée are 4 ounces :)

I swapped the chocolate for a handful of raisins and 1 tsp of cinnamon. It was fabulous. I want to try the chocolate soon, but my parents really wanted “traditional” bread pudding. Thanks for making Christmas with Covid a little more merry!

I use the crusts on the bread; just dice the whole piece.

I have never made or tasted bread pudding! Do you take crust off bread or use entire piece of bread?

I don’t have oven safe mugs, but the recipe sounds really good. Just want to make sure I use the right sized container. Many thanks! Big fan of your site.

I’ve always loved bread pudding but didn’t want to go through the work of making a huge pan of it for just me. I used two stale brioche rolls, and then subbed out the hershey’s kisses for chocolate chips, caramel chips, and pecans to make a turtle-bread-pudding. I baked it in a regular glass loaf pan. It was fabulous!

I’m planning to add 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, I have a feeling it will work really well in this recipe!

They’re not toasted. The recipe is correct.

Should the bread cubes be toasted? Thanks!
