I think maybe from the blackberry seeds or perhaps too many blackberries added? It just didn’t blend together well, and was not smooth like the icing in your photos. It still tasted good though.

]]>I made the recipe exactly according to the directions, however I noticed the icing did not seem to really blend together once i put the blackberries in and mixed it with the hand mixer – it was kind of grainy no matter how much I mixed it, and I even added a little bit of lime juice as you suggest in the recipe. Any thoughts on what might have gone wrong? The only thing I can think of was maybe the icing was too soft?

]]>Probably had the butter at the wrong temperature to begin with. Then, once you add the juice/ liquid from the blackberries, it can be hard to recover. Did you wash and DRY your berries very well?
