How does one get 32 x 1″ squares out of a 9″ x 5″ loaf pan? Assuming 1″ squares, that would be 45 at 0.7″ deep; (1″ x5) x (1.5″ x 6) equals 30.
Cannot make the math work and just seeking clarification before I devote a lot of time and effort.
Thank you.
I hope to make these for Christmas; they sound delicious!

I am wondering how long they will keep. I am thinking of making them for my grandchildren’s Advent Calendar.
Thanks
Anne

Buried in over aggressive freezing of local strawberries last winter–and the new ones are coming. So here I go.,.. Almost healthy even–well except for the sugar…

Keep them in an air-tight container for up to 3 days. Fridge is necessary if you live in a warm, humid environment.

I actually bought a candy thermometer just for this recipe, so it was my first time making candy, and it turned out beautifully. Thank you for another small-scale (so I don’t gain 5 pounds eating candy for breakfast for the rest of the week… :)) perfect recipe!!

A while back, I found a recipe from Ms. Martha that appeared to be a little easier on the arms.. (the pectin does all of the work.) I have yet to make it, but thought I’d share the link if you’re interested. http://www.marthastewart.com/913045/how-make-pate-de-fruits
