Maraschino cherries work great! Just pat them dry.

I am wondering the same thing. Did you try it with the maraschino cherries? If so, how did it turn out? TIA 😊

I found some cans of 7 ounces of Eagle Brand condensed milk, and bought a whole bunch of them. (what does one do with a half can of left over SCM?) There are just two of us. And I love cherry fudge. I wasn’t;t sure about the chocolate ratio. I use unsweetened chocolate in my fudge, as the milk is sweet enough to sweating the chocolate for our tastes. Get a more bittersweet flavor to the fudge, and so good. We love cherries in our fudge. the pan size is a great bit of information, as I was wondering about that if I reduced the my original recipe by half. Thanks so much. Also, I have made chocolate orange fudge using Trader Joes candied orange slices) peel only. A favorite of my husband’s. Can get all kinds of goodies from TJs! thanks so much and happy holidays.

DONT HEAT CONDENSED MILK, THINGS DONT SET RIGHT WHEN YOU DO, MELT THE CHOCOLATE, THEN POUR THE CONDENCED MILK OVER THE WARMED CHOCOLATE PENUT BUTTER OR WHATEVER YOU TRYING TO MAKE, THEN STIR IT IN AND PLACE IN A GREASED, LINED PAN TO FREEZE.

Hi,
Yes, I followed the directions exactly using chocolate chips. I used the fridge to firm it up and that didn’t work. I then tried the feeezer but it froze the cherries, obviously lol. I love in Ca but it wasn’t especially warm. I’m wondering if it’s becaus the cherries needed to be drained for longer. It still tastes delicious, but it’s more like pudding :)

Hi Natalie!
I’m sorry this happened to you. Did you follow the directions? Did you use chocolate chips or a chopped chocolate bar? Did you use the fridge to firm it up? That should help, sorry! Is it possible that you live in a warm humid climate?

The center is soft and gooey. This has never happened to me before. Any ideas why this fudge didn’t firm up?
