Howโs your weekend shaping up? Itโs Fall, so there should be tons of things to do! Octoberfest, raking leaves, food festivals, fall baking. Really, the weekend is your oyster. But you say your Friday nights arenโt looking too hot lately? I know that feeling. You need chocolate. Thereโs not many things that you canโt dip in chocolate to make you feel better. Plus, cheer upโitโs sweater weather! The dates will surely increase because we all need someone to keep us warm this winter. Until then, make single girl fondue. In the microwave! Along the same lines as my Microwave Chocolate Mug Cakeย to soothe your soul, this single serving batch of fondue will hug you in all the right places.
Dip fruit, if youโre feeling healthy, or cookies if youโre feeling crappy. Itโs all good! My mother in law taught me to dip walnuts in honey as a snack. I feel like she would also approve of dipping them in warm melted chocolate. Who wouldnโt?
If all this talk about dipping chocolate is making you thirsty, youโre going to want to whip up my Singleย Girl Sangriaย to serve on the side.ย You make it right in the glass, and itโs the perfect accompaniment to single girl fondue.
Customize your booze, customize your chocolate dippers. You are going to have a great Friday night!
So, the recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of heavy cream and 1 tablespoon of butter. In my experience, this makes the richest chocolate fondue, albeit a bit thicker than fondue you might get a certain chain fondue restaurant called Schmelting Pot (or something along those lines).ย But really, all you need is 3 tablespoons of fat, so mix and match as you like. Use your coffee creamer, whatever you have around. Also, please follow the directions exactlyโฆlike, seriously donโt stir the chocolate for a full 2 minutes. Two.minutes. I know itโs hard. Make another drink while you wait.

Single Girl Fondue
A delicious chocolate fondue recipe for one.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1.5 ounces chocolate, finely chopped
- assorted dippers (strawberries, cookies, walnuts, etc.)
Instructions
- In a 1-cup glass measuring cup (or small, shallow bowl), add the cream and butter. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds. Keep an eye on it--it will boil and bubble up, but it should not boil over.
- Immediately when the hot liquid comes out of the microwave, add all of the chopped chocolate, but DO NOT STIR. Let it sit untouched for a full 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, stir the mixture slowly to melt the chocolate. If it's thicker than you would like it, stir in an extra half tablespoon of butter at a time to reach a thinner consistency.
- Serve with dippers.

I LOVE that this creates a thicker version of chocolate dipping sauce! One of my biggest complaints with fondue is when the yummy dip just melts right off in a thin layer. Bravo!
Thicker chocolate = more likely to stick to fruit = very happy girl!
I am thinking this would be the perfect thing to celebrate a great past few days!
Had the most amazing time chatting and getting to know you! Canโt wait until our next meet up. Thinking fondue should be involved!
Fondue and dippers with sangria on the side. Sounds like a pretty darn good night to me!
Enjoyed talking with you last night! I think youโre just all-around fab. :)
